Mobile Advertising Milestone From AdMob; Now Serving … A Whopping 5 Billion!
The official press release is set for tomorrow – but we have it today. AdMob, which effectively provides a global mobile marketplace, has told me the company just served a billion ads in less than a month – bring the grand total to 5 billion on the last 20 months. AdMob is pretty pleased – and you can check out the celebration here. Check out the “before” and “after” post straight from the company blog – it made me howl…
Do the math and Admob serves more than 370 ads per second. But keep in mind that is ads served and not ads clicked. Some observers note that AdMob, which has been particularly successful in the social network space, certainly has the reach but conversion is another story… But the impact of AdMob on mobile marketing is significant and the stats they’re gathering from serving such a phenomenal number of ads are chock-full of surprises. I’ll discuss this and more with Omar Hamoui, AdMob Founder & CEO, in an exclusive podcast next week. He’s a brilliant entrepreneur and strategist – so I’m looking forward to an invigorating exchange. Here’s an excellent interview with Omar from Knowledge @ Wharton (reg. req.) you might want to read while we’re waiting…
