Taking It To The Masses: AdMob Opens Up; Developers Can Capture Eyeballs On Facebook
Mobile advertising marketplace provider AdMob has created an application to help third-party developers on Facebook to monetise their services. According to Facebook rules and in accordance with AdMob’s offering, third-party application developers will retain full rights to which ads are shown in relation to their apps. (A prerequisite to delivering the relevancy and personalisation that will drive mobile advertising acceptance and conversion.)
Never one to miss a trick, AdMob have also provided a template application which will help developers build in ad-capability from the off in an attempt to help the market gear up.
The move will also see AdMob cement their place at the top of the mobile ad league – a place they already hold by some distance, servicing 1.5 billion ads a month. (Peggy adds: Soon to total a staggering 10 billion to date we hear.) If AdMob can deliver a usable, functional ad experience on Facebook, then brands will be queueing up round the virtual block.
