Mobile Search Masterclass In London & Mobile Advertising Networking Evening
That sums up my schedule. As regular readers will know, I’m off to London for the next two days to join a group of esteemed colleagues in giving the first Mobile Search Masterclass at City University London. Jonathan Raper tells me the response is positive and there is a good chance this is only the first of a series of in-depth seminars. After that, it’s off to Soho to meet up with Ogilvy’s Jonathan MacDonald at an informal gathering of mobile marketers.
At this point, allow me to again invite companies to reach out to me for a get-to-know-you chat. Lateral thinker that I am, I soak up good ideas like a sponge and find multiple uses for the material, both on MSG and across my many projects (which range from thought leadership columns to my own industry white papers).
In fact, a recent interview with Evernote CEO Phil Libin is not only excellent material for MSG; it also provides the perfect ending for a special report (advertorial) I have been commissioned to write for the Wall Street Journal (timed to the opening of the Mobile Asia Congress in Macau) examining the ways in which mobile phones link the physical and virtual worlds.
And let’s not forget my many speaking engagements. I welcome the opportunity to incorporate your slide decks into my PowerPoint presentations. In the case of the one I am presenting tomorrow, Xiam, a Qualcomm company, has kindly provided me a few key slides illustrating the positive impact of recommendation engines on mobile operator revenues (a 12 percent uptick, BTW). Thanks again to the many companies that have provided me ideas and materials, including Abphone, Action Engine, Greystripe, MCN, Motricity, and Thumplay.
Please check back later this week when I return with some super-cool mobile search companies, a controversial look at flat-rate data plans, analysis of Bango’s latest offer, and some important news from AdMob (I’ve been pre-briefed).
(Disclaimer: AdMob and MCN are MSG supporters.)
